This posting confirmed a lesson I have learned the hard way as well. In my experience the best leaders also have a good dose of humility as well. Which means the ones that need to stand up and teach others are sometimes least likely to see that as a possibility. Who me? There must be others that are "better" out there.

oh wow this really speaks to me today. for me it's leadership. i am not seeing myself as as powerful a leader as i am been seen by others. i stepped up into an acting role while someone else was away and now being asked by *everyone* to take over that position which would make me the leader of an organisation i care very much about. at first i was surprised that everyone else is seeing me as the best choice for the new leader. it is starting to sink in. sometimes i'm so busy looking at what i'm going to do next that i don't stop to look at all that i have accomplished already.

we are so much more than we realise!

For years, Establish Yourself as an Expert has been one of my most popular seminars. I point out that often we realize how much we know when we listen to another expert in our field and discover we haven't been giving ourselves enough credit for our own expertise. Sounds as if that's exactly what happened to you. Thanks for sharing.
