About this Site

These things I believe:
-    we are all created (by a generous and creative God) with unique and interesting gifts
-    the more these gifts are given away the greater their value
-    the world is made a more beautiful and more just place by the sharing of gifts
-    I am made a better person by the sharing of my gifts and the receiving of yours

This website is offered to you, its reader, as a place where you can learn more about your giftedness, take the first (or second or tenth or hundredth) step in offering your gifts to the world (or even to just one person), offer support and advice to others taking those steps, and be inspired to make the world better by the sharing of gifts.

There are three things you can do here:
-    Give – Offer up your gifts, whatever shape they may take.  This will look like different things to different people.   Perhaps you’ve just started a watercolour class and you feel a little tingly about your first success and you want someone to enjoy it with you.  You can offer the painting (or a print of the painting) to anyone who wants it.  Or perhaps you’ve begun to realize you have a gift for organization.  You can offer that up and ask for advice about finding just the right non-profit organization or fledgling business that could use your gift.  Whatever your gift looks like, now is the time to offer it up. -    Reflect – Read other people’s stories or submit your own stories about how you learned about your gift and how offering your gift to someone else has changed you and/or that person/people.  Again, these stories will be as unique and individual as each person is.  Take a chance on sending your stories and if they are appropriate to the content of this website, I’ll post them to inspire others who drop by this space. (Link to How to submit)
-    Learn – Glean wisdom from what I (and the many people I have learned from) have learned from years of studying, teaching, and learning about creativity, art, giftedness, stewardship, leadership, justice and giving.  I will share things like “how to recognize your giftedness”, “what do I do with failure?”, “what if people I care about don’t value my giftedness?” and many others.

In the coming months, in addition to the blog posts, I’ll be developing some more in-depth resources, such as a workbook to help you explore your giftedness and a “Giveaway Party in a Box” (stay tuned for more information about that).  In the meantime, though, you can visit the resources page to find out about the books, websites, and quotes that have been a source of inspiration for me.

Over the years, I’ve facilitated a number of workshops and courses on creativity, leadership, and the exploration of your giftedness.  I’ll be putting together a few more in the future and will be making some available online.  Stay tuned for upcoming retreats as well, and come back soon to learn about the Giveaway Parties (like Tupperware, but without the plastic… or sales pitch.) Find out more in the workshops section of this site.
